Rail

Highland uses rail transport as part of our international moves.

Rail is very competitive on long distances (in USA generally over 500 miles). Thousands of export containers move by rail from inland rail depots to the ports and in the opposite direction for imports. Rail is often the only cost effective option to move very heavy pieces from the inland factories.  An example of this is the shipment of generators (each weighing 700,000 pounds) that Highland moved recently.

In many countries with well developed rail network, the train is a very reliable and fast way to move both containers and oversize cargo.

Contact Highland to see if using rail could be the best solution for your next shipment. Our experienced specialists will guide you through the process and suggest various alternatives to meet your deadlines and budget.
