45 Windmill Blades

Shipped from Houston to the Dominican Republic

Project

Highland Project Logistics (HPL) was selected  to transport 45 windmill blades, each 180 foot (55 meters) long from Colorado, USA to their destination in Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic. The wind blades were manufactured by VESTAS USA, a subsidiary of VESTAS Denmark, one of the world’s largest windmill manufacturers.

Solution

The state-of-the-art windmill blades were being housed at VESTAS’ manufacturing plant in Brighton, CO.  HPL was tasked with the delivery of the blades to Houston, Texas for departure on a chartered vessel to the Dominican Republic. To accomplish this project, HPL utilized 15 specialized trucks, making three round trips between Colorado and Texas to safely shuttle all 45 blades to their port of departure.
